WHO WE ARE

We are a select group of retail specialists who work in close partnership with our clients to deliver improved business performance.

We bring original thinking, astute analysis and practical solutions - flexing the mix of creativity, intellectual rigour and action as appropriate.

Our approach is defined by our belief that maximising potential is part knowledge, part experience and part passion

Our knowledge and experience are drawn from senior management positions, directorships, advisory roles and consultancy projects

Our passion comes from loving what we do and from who we are . . . enthusiastic, curious, creative, challenging, focused and, admittedly, addicted to retail.

OUR TEAM

We have a multi-skilled team, specialists in their field but with a broad experience in a number of different sectors operating in very different environments.

All project teams are led by one of our co-founders.

Amanda Poole is a retail consultant with strong analytical, creative and communication skills that are particularly prized by companies in transition who need her experience in concept development, strategic evaluation, business planning and funding.

Amanda has experience across a range of retail and related sectors: from corporate to government; financial services to charities.   She started her career in the corporate sector, including J Sainsbury and Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank) before moving into management consultancy.

Amanda is an Associate Fellow of the SAID Business School Oxford and a Trustee of Modern Art Oxford
Teresa WhiteTeresa White

Teresa has over 20 years' experience in developing and implementing retail and brand strategies. She specialises in strategy development, market positioning and brand communications, covering both commercial and creative aspects.

Teresa helps clients to better understand their customers and markets in order to develop sound brand propositions and to improve their return on investment. She also works on turnaround situations, helping mature brands to evolve.

Prior to co-founding Partners in Retail Teresa worked as a Board Director for both retail and manufacturing companies. Her marketing experience includes blue chip fmcg brands and high street retailers.

Teresa has a degree in Accountancy & Management from University College Cardiff and an MBA from INSEAD.
Robert PollardRobert Pollard

Robert Position:

Robert is an experienced retail consultant with both strategic and operational skills. He works with a wide variety of clients from start-ups to global players operating in the UK and internationally.

Having started his career in retail management, Robert now works with retailers on business growth and performance improvement, with a focus on store operations, ranging and merchandising. He has particular expertise in working with retailers to develop new formats and assisting them to enter new markets or new sectors. He also works closely with banks, investors and financial institutions to advise on acquisitions and investments with particular focus on post-deal situations and business integration.

Prior to co-founding Partners in Retail, Robert worked in senior consultancy roles with PW and KPMG and was a board director with Management Horizons Europe. Robert has a degree in Management Sciences from Manchester University.
